Thanks Anita Kuss – CEO of Uni Hub Spencer Gulf
The Spencer Gulf Cities (SGC), comprising the Mayors of Port Augusta, Port Pirie and Whyalla, acknowledge the outstanding contribution of CEO Anita Kuss, who has recently announced she will step down from her role as Uni Hub Spencer Gulf CEO in June this year.
The SGC played a key role in establishing the Uni Hub more than a decade ago, working alongside other significant regional stakeholders. Uni Hub opened its first university study hub in Port Pirie in 2019, followed by additional sites in Port Augusta, Copper Coast, Port Lincoln and Roxby Downs. The organisation now supports more than 500 local university students across northern and western
South Australia.
Acting Chair of the SGC, Mayor Linley Shine, said the region has faced many challenges over the past decade, with access to university education playing a critical role inbuilding and retaining a skilled regional workforce.
“Securing access to university qualifications within the region has been instrumental in improving opportunities for local people and, where possible, retaining skills locally. Anita played a pivotal role in shaping the vision for the Hub, securing funding, establishing university partnerships, and developing multiple locations across the region to support students. We sincerely thank Anita for her leadership and
contribution, and wish her every success in her future endeavours” said Mayor Shine.
